TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now)- Many northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan communities will be holding Memorial Day parades this weekend. Here's a list of when and where the parades will be held.

Toledo

Saturday, May 25 - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Downtown Toledo

Monroe

Monday, May 27 – 2 p.m. – South Monroe Street.

Defiance County unemployment drops to 6.9 percent

DEFIANCE, OH (Toledo News Now) – Unemployment in Defiance County fell again in April, hitting 6.9 percent. That number is down from the 7.3 percent reported in March, and well below the 7.5 percent reported in April of 2012.

Defiance College Honors, Dean’s Lists for spring semester 2013

DEFIANCE, OH (Press Release) – Each semester Defiance College recognizes students who have attained an outstanding level of academic excellence by naming them to either the Dean’s list or the school honors list.

The honors list is for students achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and enrolled in 6-11 semester hours for which letter grades are given. Students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and are enrolled in 12 or more semester hours for which letter grades are given are named to the Dean’s list.

4 arrested in connection to Defiance burglaries

DEFIANCE, OH (Toledo News Now)- Residents in Defiance can rest a little easier tonight after police made numerous arrests for burglary cases.

One man and three juveniles have been arrested and charged in different cases.

Gary Blankenship, 18, has been charged with one count of burglary, but officials are still investigating and say they're not ruling out the possibility that he's connected to other cases.

The string of break-ins has been happening in the south and southeast part of the city.
